Just 21 Days to go till Christmas! #CountdownToChristmas with Countdown Keeper

It’s officially the month of Christmas and what better way to get excited than to have a countdown on your iPhone to share with friends? Here are a few of our favourite ways to use Countdown Keeper at Christmas time…

Countdown to Santa’s Visit

A great one for the little ones in your life! As well as weeks, days and hours, you can countdown in minutes and seconds too which can make it even more exciting for those excited to see Santa and Rudolph on Christmas Eve. 

Why not count down to the children’s bedtime on Christmas Eve and set an alarm so that when the app notifies you of Santa’s arrival it’s time for bedtime too (Santa doesn't visit when children are awake!). You can have fun by uploading your very own background image from Facebook, your camera roll or use one of our pre-loaded backgrounds in the Countdown Keeper Library.

Christmas Gifts

With every event you add to Countdown Keeper there is also a ‘notes’ section which during Christmas is especially handy for keeping a note of gift ideas for friends and family. Just add a countdown to Christmas or a Christmas Gift deadline countdown and start adding your gift ideas from the notes button, et voilà! – a portable present list on your iPhone. You can keep all of your Christmas related countdowns organised in your very own custom-created category too, away from the usual countdowns and everyday events you use Countdown Keeper for.

This year instead of setting an alarm or waiting to be woken up, create an alert to your Christmas Day event in Countdown Keeper and be woken up with your very own Countdown to Christmas! Inspirational Countdowns to Motivate you through the Winter Season!

When the temperature outside drops, the days become grey, and the cold, dark nights draw in it’s easy to feel a little miserable, so we have a little idea to hopefully brighten up your day!

Studies have shown that anticipating future events is an important source of happiness. Having something to look forward to, enjoying the moment, sharing the pleasure with others to heighten the experience and then reflecting on moments make even the smallest of experiences even better. 

So... brush off the seasonal blues and be inspired by our countdown inspiration!

Halloween

The first on the calendar and only 1 week and 13 hours to go till the spooky goings on of Halloween. Add events like parties, fancy dress nights, or simply having fun with your friends carving pumpkins, making toffee apples and decorating your home. Even if it’s not something you are excited about, logging it as a countdown is especially handy if you have children, or work in an industry that positions content around themes like Halloween such as a school teacher.

Bonfire Night

Never one to miss, it’s a good idea to have your local Bonfire night event in your app early, and you can even set a reminder for when you need to buy tickets so you don’t miss out. Looking forward to bonfires and fireworks is always fun, especially if you are also celebrating with friends and family – countdown to the fun and revelry of toasted marshmallows, candy floss, dazzling fireworks and mesmerising bonfires. Only 1 week, 5 days, 13 hours and 10 minutes to go!

Christmas Eve & Day

Using Countdown Keeper you can countdown to Christmas Eve when Santa pays a visit for children, Christmas Day itself, or both! There are lots of Christmas Day countdown apps out there, but we like to think of ours being much more useful by adding other events that you can look forward to as well! Plus there is also a ‘notes’ section to each event which during Christmas is especially handy for keeping a note of gift ideas for friends and family. Other Christmas events you can keep track of and countdown to are the local Christmas lights switch on, Boxing Day gatherings or even some Winter sun if you are planning on getting away from the UK.

New Year’s Eve & Day

There’s nothing better than starting a new year, especially if you spent the last night of the previous year in good spirits with friends, family or just in your happy place. We like to create a countdown to the first day of the New Year to inspire us to be excited for the year ahead and what it might bring! 2015 starts in just 9 weeks, 6 days, 13 hours, 8 minutes, 18 seconds and counting!

Countdown Keeper reaches 30,000 users! #collectmoments

Four months ago we launched Countdown Keeper into the App Store, the very first app by Katie & Jane, and we are so excited and thankful that we have now reached more than 30,000 users!

Our aims for the app were simple; we wanted to create a fully customisable app that helped people to get excited about events, or look back on events with fond memories, celebrating the little things in life and encouraging people to collect moments, not things.

Since the launch we've absolutely loved seeing all of our users posting their events across social media and using the hashtag #collectmoments - that's honestly the best thing about launching an app!

We've got an update for the app that should be out in the next month or so, and then we'll be working on some bigger changes to improve the overall experience - hopefully by the end of the year and ready for all those count downs to Christmas!

Countdown Keeper: Our Favourite Moments So Far!

There’s nothing more exciting than seeing Countdown Keeper users posting their events across social media and joining us in collecting moments, so we thought we’d highlight a few of our favourites so far! You can download the app for free today here.

Countdown Keeper is all about getting excited about future events and remembering moments so we wanted it to be simple to record these special times. Users can count down to events and once the day arrives, Countdown Keeper will start to count since the day – keeping the memories to look back on afterwards.

Holidays are probably the number one thing many of us are looking forward to at the moment and we like to use Countdown Keeper to count down to the very last second until the rest, relaxation and fun begins! We loved this count down to Jamaica from one of our users looking forward to their holiday!

With a summer of sport about to commence (not sure how excited Jane is!) what better way to get excited than to load the app with up-to-date and by-the-second count downs to all major sports events!? Footy fans can start counting down to all those World Cup fixtures! Or, as with the London Marathon image, use count since events to keep you motivated!

With a busy business to look after we have to plan well in advance when we see our friends for a big catch up – especially when everyone lives in different parts of the world. It's great to use Countdown Keeper to count down and get even more excited and then share it with friends on social media too!

Yes our Countdown Keeper community are already counting down to Christmas... only 30 weeks, 6 days, 7 hours, 56 minutes and 30 seconds to go!
