Inspired By…Women in Business: The Best Things We’ve Learnt So Far

Over the last two years we have enjoyed seeking out inspiration from women who have founded companies and built successful brands. Here is a collection of our favourite words of wisdom shared by some of the most successful women in business we have met so far including Jo Malone; MBE & Fragrance Entrepreneur, Chrissie Rucker Founder of The White Company, Tamara Heber-Percy MBE & Co-Founder of luxury travel experts Mr & Mrs Smith and our US favourite; Co-Founder & Chief Happiness Officer at Happier Inc, Nataly Kogan.

 Jo Malone...

"I wake up each morning and the first question I think about is…

“Some of the greatest ideas come from mistakes, so don’t be afraid to follow your own path”

Tamara Herber - Percy...

“...Mr & Mrs Smith was born out of a frustration at the traditional way travel companies were ‘supposed’ to engage with customers, so we aimed to revolutionise the dusty travel book into a digital, global e-commerce business.”

Nataly Kogan...

“Ask for help and feedback ALL THE TIME...

“I have a rule - I ask for help once a day. A mentor, someone on my team, a friend. Sometimes it's big, sometimes something small. But it's a way of thinking and it also sets an example for my team that they can and should do the same.”

Chrissie Rucker...

“One of the most crucial elements to success is to live, sleep and breathe your customer…

“Things go wrong the whole time, have the state of mind and attitude to look at what has gone wrong, learn from it, put it right and say sorry as fast as you can… part of the learning curve is not to make the same mistake again in future.”

“You are only ever as good as the people you have around you at work and at home too”

We hope this has inspired you to carry on pursuing your ambitions in life. You can read all the blog posts in full below and if you have any words of wisdom to share – leave a comment below or tweet us with the hashtag #katieandjane.
